Bios:

  • Dr. Ronald L. Jacobs is professor of human resource development, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Ron has authored over 100 journal articles and book chapters, and has authored or co-authored six books that address a range of topics in human resource and workforce development.  Ron is emeritus professor of workforce development and education at The Ohio State University.  Ron has served as editor of Human Resource Development Quarterly and as president of the Academy of Human Resource Development.  Ron was inducted in the International Adult and Continuing Education (IACE) Hall of Fame and to the Academy of Human Resource Development Scholar Hall of Fame for his scholarly contributions to the field.

     

  • Dr. Melika Shirmohammadi is assistant professor of Human Resource Development at University of Houston. As a researcher, Melika is curious about the role of work in people’s lives. Particularly, she is interested in questions about careers and well-being of workers from under-represented backgrounds and those in unconventional contexts. She has several journal articles and conference presentations in these areas. She serves as the Academy of Management Career Division Newsletter Editor and on the editorial board of Human Resource Development Review.

     

  • Dr. Seung Won Yoon is professor of Higher Education & Learning Technologies at Texas A&M University-Commerce. His research focuses on improving employees’ and organizational performance through connecting leadership, learning/knowledge sharing, and technologies. To do so, he frequently applies frameworks of social capital, network science, and data analytics. He serves as an associate editor of the Human Resource Development Quarterly journal. He formerly taught in instructional technology over a decade and worked as an IT project manager for several years.
