About The Podcast

Kids’ Poetry Club is a whimsical home full of the joy of kids' poetry, where kids can listen to and read poems, and share their own poetry with the world. Since starting in January 2020, the Kids’ Poetry Club podcast has released 150+ episodes featuring over 500 poems read by kids from all around the world.

Every Monday, meet Little Dazzy Donuts and the Club characters in a 15-minute podcast episode filled with rhymes and fun, as well as the chance twice per month to listen to kids reading their own poetry entries into our regular competitions. To continue the fun beyond the weekly episodes, there are YouTube videos based on that week’s poems, as well as albums of poetry taken from podcast episodes.

Each episode features Little Dazzy Donuts, who writes poetry for kids, and Queenie, the instigator of most of the fun that happens at the Club. A lot of characters appear in the story lines, including Queenie’s best friends: Chicken (a saxophone player who also gardens behind the Club); Hedgehog (a regular night visitor during Spring and Summer); and Shasta (a sheep who enjoys dancing and magic). Other important friends of the Club include: Breadmaker Ronnie and Judy (who run the local bakery, The Rising Bun); Bill Ding (a local artist); Chef Katie Currant (who runs the local restaurant); Tom, Art, and Lady Day (DJs at the local radio station); Sammy Showers (the local weather forecaster); Donna Worry (a local college professor); Rhyming Rita (a poetry teacher); and Postie Dale (who works at the Poetry Postal Service).

You will love getting to know the characters, listening to kids’ poetry, and joining in yourself!
The Club is open to everyone: kids and grownups alike. Why not escape into Kids’ Poetry Club, enjoy the fun, and make new friends? Everyone will be delighted to meet you!
