Bios:

  • Dr. Julie Gedro, Dean of the School of Business at SUNY Empire State College, where she is also a tenured Full Professor. She worked in Human Resource Management and Development positions in financial software and telecommunications companies in Atlanta, Georgia before joining SUNY Empire State College. Julie’s awards include the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities, the Jane Altes Prize for Outstanding Community Services, and the AHRD Cutting Edge Award. Her scholarship focuses on career development and leadership development. Julie is the Editor of the book series Palgrave Explorations in Workplace Stigma. She is Past-President of the Academy of Human Resource Development.

  • Dr. Chaunda L. Scott, Professor of Human Resource Development in the Department of Organizational Leadership at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She also serves as the coordinator of the Graduate Human Diversity Inclusion and Social Justice Certificate Program and the Diversity and Inclusion Specialist for the Office of the Dean in the School of Education and Human Services. Her scholarly teaching, research and service activities are focused in the areas of human resource development, workforce diversity policies and practices, social justice education, post-Apartheid diversity and social justice education and eradicating racism. Dr. Scott is a Fulbright Scholar, and advisor to the Academy of Human Resource Development’s [AHRD] Antiracism Committee. She is also a Steering Committee Member of the AHRD’s Workforce Diversity and Inclusion Special Interest Group.

  • Dr. Joshua Collins, Associate Professor of Human Resource Development at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Academy of HRD and is the recipient of the 2017 Early Career Scholar Award given by the Academy, as well as numerous other awards including the Assistant Professor award given by the University Council for Workforce and Human Resource Education. His research, which has been published in leading HRD journals and other prominent outlets, focuses on issues of learning and work for underrepresented and marginalized groups, including people of color and LGBTQ populations.
