Bios:
Dr. Yuanlu Niu is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Development at the University of Arkansas. She holds a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Workforce Education and Development and an MBA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Her research interests include career development, employability, and career transition.
Dr. Jos Akkermans is a Full Professor of Sustainable Careers at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His research focuses on how people can build successful and sustainable careers in a changing world of work, with particular interests in career shocks, career transitions, employability, and non-traditional careers. A central theme in his work is understanding how individuals and their surrounding context jointly shape career development over time. Jos is a former Chair of the Academy of Management Careers Division, recipient of the Division’s Mid-Career Career Scholar Award, and currently serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Vocational Behavior.
